"Madness" - Muse
I chose the song "Madness" by Muse, because it relates directly with the relation of Ophelia and Hamlet, and all the things that happened in relation with them. This song describes perfectly how the situation was with them, and how they felt about it. Ophelia was Hamlet eternal's love but she was manipulated by the thoughts of his brother Laertes and his father Polonius. Rhey though that Hamlet was just using Ophelia and did not loved he. They told her that he was showing false vows for her and therefore she should end the relationship. She agreed to end the relationship with Hamlet even if she loved him too. As soon as Hamlet knew this, he turned insane and did some strange things, such some verbal attacks, letters and insanity moments. Also, because of other conflicts, Hamlet's insanity is fed and leads to the assasination of Polonius, Ophelia's father. The death of Polonius leads to the complete insanity of Ophelia and the rage of Laertes. Later on, Ophelia drowns herself, and Laertes wants revenge. Thats why the song "Madness" is so related with the play and with Hamlet's attitude. An unchained series of chaotic and unfortuned events that leads everyone to madness.

"Animal I Have Become" - Three Days Grace
“Animal I Have Become” – Three Days Grace
I chose this song, Animal I Have Become by Three Days Grace,
to be related to the play of Hamlet, specifically with main character Hamlet.
This song relates directly with the play and the situation of it because Hamlet
is passing through a lot of things that reflect what the song is saying.
Everyone in the play thinks that Hamlet has turned insane, including himself.
Madness is flowing through his veins and he can’t resist that feeling. A series of events are the ones responsible
for the craziness of Lord Hamlet. For example, the death of his father, the
fact that his uncle killed his father, the love for Ophelia, the weakness and
stupidity of his mom because of forgetting about his long-time husband and
accepting marriage from his uncle Claudius that fast, and the anxiety for
revenge.
I can't escape this hell
So many times I've tried
But I'm still caged inside
Somebody get me through this nightmare
I can't control myself
This part of the lyrics, express how the character is going insane, and cant control himself anymore. Hamlet passes through these problems because he is sometimes doing things without thinking in the consequences. He can’t control his actions anymore.

In general the whole song the insane state that Hamlet is passing
through and that is the main reason I chose this song.

"Mad World" - Gary Jules
The song "Mad World", from the singer Gary Jules, relates directly with the main character Hamlet specifically when he is driving in, in that kind of depressive madness. There are many things that are driving Hamlet into a state of insanity. For example the death and loss of his father. This specific issue drove in Hamlet insane, and it also gave birth to other problems that affect Hamlet. The fact that Claudius, blood brother of Hamlet's father, murdered the King with poison trough his ear made Hamlet sick. Also, that within less than a month his mother, Queen Gertrude, accepted marriage with his uncle, the one that murdered his father. The sheets of the royal bed were spotted with incestuous actions. He considered his mother weak and a total whore because of the ability of being able to forget her husband that fast. The secret relationship that he has with Ophelia, Polonius daughter, and the internal problems of that relation are also a problem for Hamlet.
"All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
"All around me are familiar faces
Bright and early for the daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere".
This part of the song talks about how everything lost its place, and how everything is losing its curse. And this can be related to Hamlet because of all the problems he has and how they are affecting him.
